a flight from Houston to New Orleans takes less than an hour, they don't even have time to serve you a soft drink. how does it take you 4 hours? it's not a terrible drive as your on I-10 the whole way. rather boring. the only advantage to the car is that you can bring more stuff.

Any chance you can do this by car and take along a friend to help with driving and with the baby? That's awfully tiny. Wouldn't do either car or plane if I could avoid it somehow.

I would say drive. I'm not trying to freak you out but, there have been a lot of plane crashes lately. If I was traveling with my children (3 year old and 9 week-old girls) I would definitely drive. So I'm gonna suggest the same for you. You can always pull over if you need to. If you get an inconsolable baby on an airplane, people can make it worse by the baby having anxiety from all the strangers. This is just my personal opinion. Best of luck to you and baby with your trip.
