Out of these airlines listed, which is the best to fly? (USA)?
Continental Airlines, American Airlines, US Airways, Delta Air Lines, United or Northwest Airlines? This summer of 2010, I will be taking a round-trip flight from New Orleans, LA to Honolulu, Hawaii. From YOUR experience, which airline do you suggest I take and suggest I do not take? I don't want to end up with crappy service throughout my long 11-13 hour flight. Thank you. Additional details: Thank you all for the quick responses. Honestly, meal and leg room is not quite important to me. I'm quite small (4'11") and I just want to get there with a quick, smooth yet enjoyable flight. I will try to book a flight as soon as I can. I will keep checking back for responses. Thank you everyone.

I love American airlines never had a problem on it. Cant stand Delta service is awful northwest is uncomfortable and I never flew Continental. usair and united are always in financial trouble. My airlines of choice are Jetblue or American Airlines. Book in January to get the best Rate

stay away from American Airlines, you have to pay for your meal and hefty charge on luggage, I would stay w/ continental Airlines, the only one that you can still get a free meals, the others airlines are oks , no big of the deal

Problem with this question is that all the answers you get are going to be subjective. As I write this two have been posted one saying AA are great and the other saying they are the worst. Truth is you can have a great or awful experience on any of them. I suggest; 1. Look at all their websites and see what they offer to you! Is legroom important? Who has the best? Which seat has the greatest recline? Who is the most generous in terms of food and drinks? Who has got the best In flight entertainment? 2. Find out their schedules and see who can get you to your destination(s) quickest and smoothest. 3. Use comparison sites like Kayak.com and Travelsupermarket.com to find the best price for the dates you want to travel. (Be a bit flexible if you can, a day can make a difference. Avoid public and school holidays if possible). if you have complex itineraries, for example if you want to make a stopover in LA for a couple of days make certain the website can accommodate this. If not go see an independent travel agent. 4. Check any deals you find with the airline's own website and then if all is OK, go for it. Don't delay because prices generally only go up the closer it gets to departure.

All US airlines flying domestically are, basically, bad. So, base your choice on who will feed you for free, what checked bags cost, legroom and, of course, cost and convenience of itinerary.

I would say US Airways are the best of a bad bunch.

Continental. They are based in Houston and will likely have some friendly Texan flight attendants, who will take care of their neighbor from N'Awlins. Delta and NW are basically the same, as the former bought the latter. meh... US Scare....hmm..... AA technically fine, but I think their service is cold. The F/As think the company is screwing them over, so how can they be happy on the job? Untied? I mean, United? they are doing their best to be a "self serve" airline....meaning, if anything goes wrong anywhere along the line, you have a really hard time finding an actual person to help you! Go with my buds from Houston.....

Continental, Northwest , and Delta are your best bet. there isn't really such a think as a good airline anymore, maybe jet blue or southwest. go with either of the three, go with the cheapest one of the three. and in all ways DO NOT FLY AMERICAN AIRLINES. what a horrible airline, they need to go under
