Try Southwest Airlines at www.southwest.com - they have some of the cheapest airfares in that area, and they serve New Orleans.

Where are you flying from?? First you can use expedia.com to cover the fees of several airlines at once. Or www.flightcentre.com as a general low fare site. Next, send an email to a local travel agency and see what they can do for you. Your local travel agent will likely be able to offer you the lowest fare even with their commission. Remember to travel low season &\or mid-week if possible to save a few bucks.

depending where you are flying from try JetBlue, Southwest, or go to Expedia, travelocity, or concierge and do a comparison. and my friend does priceline a bunch and gets good prices, but I don't know much about that.
