Can i bring cooked food on contianer hand carry on continental domestic flight from florida to new orleans?

Sure, as long as it isn't a liquid or gel. So no soup or stuff with sauce, but something roasted, baked or fried should be fine. I often bring sandwiches, and lately even roasted chicken and veggies. Never had a problem. Mildly amusing, distantly relevant story: One time, coming back from the Philippines, my mother hand-carried a box of a cooked local delicacy. At US Customs they had no problem letting her bring it in, but the customs agent -- whose family was also from the Philippines -- asked my mom if she could have one! Of course, being Filipina, my mom always had plenty of food to share.... Point is, I think your biggest problem is envy from your fellow travelers. =)
