What to wear on a long flight?

well, i'm going to study overseas. before I do that I have 3 flights ahead of me. London - Miami - New Orleans. I also have 8 hours of waiting to do, excluding the flight itself. So my question is what should I wear? From head to toe. I'm meeting my hostfamily for the very first time, so I wanna look cute and not all shabby. I was thinking maybe a strapless dress with tights underneath, but I don't know. Any ideas are appreciated!

okay, you should wear your hair down, a kinda big, loose shirt, sweat shorts and flip flopss.

Wear something comfy while on the flight and then change when you get off. You don't want to be in a dress for a really long flight.

I have flown many times....long flights...something loose and comfy...before you land you can always change in the bathroom....or change when you get off the flight before you meet up with whoever you want to meet. Nothing too fancy on a long flight...you will regret it...trust me.

I wouldn't suggest wearing tights, they'd get itchy after a few hours. Maybe just a nice top and a pair of slacks. That's what I wore for my 17 hour flight to Scotland. I kept a brush and all my makeup in my carryon so I could touch up before meeting family there.

Well airplanes are usually very cold so maybe a nice v-neck kimono top with some nice fitted pants, and flats? And if you get cold, you could wear a jacket or blazer over it? I would put the flats on afterwards but during the ride, I would wear slippers. :P

You need to wear something light and comfortable that you would be ok staying in that long also I would have an extra set of clothes just you spill something on them or they rip.

the dress and tights sound good, but i usually find planes freezing, and since you have to pay for blankets now, i would take a sweater in your carry on, but overall i would say comfort!!! another thing you could do is dress in sweats or something super comfy and change before you land, that way your nice clothes are fresh and not crumpled or smelly... =)

Well, although it may be hot where you are landing, it is quite cool on the airplane. I would suggest jeans and a crop jacket with a tank inside?

don't forget drafts on a flight- i usually wear socks- purely because i get cold quite easily, i'd wear some jeans- not tight and uncomfortable- and then get changed when you arrive at the airport! when you get on the plane dressed up all warm- you can always strip down during the flight if you get too hot- but you cant stop the plane to get some more clothes if you board in a dress and you get too cold throughout the trip! xx have a good journey

I think that would be acceptable. I would put on tights after the flight. Or wear leggings if you want to wear some type of pants during the flight. wear flip flops until the flight is over unless you want to wear flip flops even when you are finished with the flying I dont think it matters how you do your hair unless you do something that took a while or really looks good-- fancy bun or nice curls..
