1) An airplane travels from New Orleans to Atlanta at an average rate of 320 mi/h. The airplane then returns at an average rate of 280 mi/h. The total travel time is 3 hours. How long was the flight from New Orleans to Atlanta? 2) Two bicyclists ride in opposite directions. The speed of the first cyclist is 5 miles per hour faster than the second. After 2 hours, they are 70 miles apart. Find the rate of each cyclist. thnx for showing ur work kelsey damn the first person is really mean but thanks to the second person

2) x x+5 (x+x+5)2=70 4x+10=70 4x=60 x=15 for the slower one and 15+5=20 for the faster one 1) the average speed is 300 mph. therefore, the cities are 450 miles apart (1.5*300). so to travel 450 miles at 320 would take 450/320=1.41 hours or 1 hour 25 minutes
