In a straight line flight from chicago to new orleans, where would you land and why?
Science Homework... Is this a trick question?

Hopefully you would fly in a straight line towards the New Orleans Airport and land there, and the reason why would be because they have runways and passenger terminals at airports.

Probably. An airliner takes about 2 hours to fly from Chicago to New Orleans, so how much does the Earth rotate in two hours? Note that a true straight line flight would eventually result in leaving the atmosphere. The Earth is curved and not following the curve means going into outer space. However, that's probably not the "trick" part of the trick question.
