Why LA? fly into Las Vegas as its a lot easier then LA, I flew one time out of LA and never again. To get best prices go to an Asian travel agencies and you will get the best prices, where in the RP are you going? You can also join this Philippine group and ask for help for ticket info to the members that live here, has visited here and that are going to visit here and also find out about the are you are planing to visit. Yes, that it is cheap...considering you're flying from MSY (New Orleans, LA) directly to MNL (Manila, Phils). What Jordan C (who is from Chicago) is recommending is also cheap (< less than $1,000), but it means you have to fly first to ORD (RT fare $209)...but it all depends on what time of the year you're going. Someone else suggested Las Vegas...right now, MSY to LAS is $309RT and then LAS to MNL is $1,403RT....so you're still better off with your direct $1543RT. Have a safe trip and enjoy your visit to the Philippines!

My Aunt is a travel agent so $1543, thats really depend on what season, in buying airline tickets theres a peek season and dead season. Peek Season (November-March, June- August) for $1543 thats not a bad deal but you can find cheaper than that and dead season $1543 (April, May, September, October) thats really high you can get $1400 if u know where to go, the lowest price I ever seen is $1200.

Hey J I just flew from Boston to CGY. and back. Total was $1513.50 I did a lot of research and had the best luck with Apex Travel out of Huston Tex. I found them on the web. Or try kayak.com Good luck.
