Who really has the cheapest flights?

I need to fly from New Orleans to Kansas city to help a friend and I am having real difficulties finding a cheap flight. Help I am leaving 3/22/2010 coming back 03/28/2010 and cheap is the cheapest.

When are you planning to fly? What do you consider cheap? Leaving tomorrow and through the end of the month, I find prices for round trips between about $200 to $400. Early March the prices are slightly less - $180 for a March 2 departure. That's about as good as it is going to ever get. Edit: If you leave on March 22, the best price I find is $258, on Continental. If you leave on March 23, there are fares from $184 on Delta. Southwest Airlines lowest fares for Monday-Sunday is $242. Tuesday-Sunday is $188 at best. The best thing for you to do is to go to a travel site (I like www.kayak.com, but there are hundreds of others), enter MSY (new Orleans) as the departure city, enter MCI (Kansas City) as the arrival city, enter your dates, and take a look. Southwest only sells tickets on its own website: http://www.southwest.com/

Birds have the cleapest flight of all. but plane wise go with Continential.

airlines are in competition to have the cheapest fares. just look it up at bing travel they'll show you the cheapest flights to Kansas, and kansas doesn't have any direct flight you'll most likely have to connect.
