Question About Flight Simulator X

Question About Flight Simulator X?
I am in the middle of a flight. I have it so that i am flying Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), instead of Visual Flight Rules VFR. Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) is the one where the ATC tells you to fly at a certain altitude, heading, etc. For some reason, during the flight, the IFR was terminated. There is an option in the ATC menu for "Create or Open an IFR plan." If i make a new one, will it start my plane back at the beginning? Or will it make it so that I stay where I am (which is about more than halfway through a flight from Philadelphia to New Orleans).

Understand what had happen. Flying the IFR. Do your settings like normal. As you get to your or at your ALT. Wait until you hear ATC tell you to switch Frq. The Reply. But don't switch. Just fly along. As you get near about 120 NM out Contact the Center. And the ATC pick up again with out Term the IFR. Most time people get up and walk away from the PC. And then The ATC Calls for your Aircraft, you don't reply. it term you to VFR. But Yes you can reopen the same flight plan. But it will Ask you At the Startingpoint Click No. and you will be still in route. But you will need to contact the Center to re open IFR. When flying your route make sure your ALT is the Same. Once you re open, you could stay VFR ontill about 150 NM out then request from center for the IFR. What I do I Take off from RJGG Get to 340 to 380 and wait for the center to contact me to switch the Freq's. I reply, but never contact the center and let AC GPS her way to KDTW and go to bed and Wake up the Next AM find It's 300NM Out and I Wait until about 120NM to Make Contact and then follow the ATC Heading's etc to the Runway.
