I have NO idea when i should book my flight

I have NO idea when i should book my flight.?

I'm taking a flight from Portland, Maine to New Orleans in April to visit my family. When is the best time to book my flight so that i wont get stuck with high prices and bad seats?NEED HELP. p.s. my parents are letting me fly alone and i have to pay for it by myself so id kinda like to get my moneys worth =)

I purchase my tickets at least 4 - 6 weeks early via the internet. It is cheaper. Just keep an eye out regularly for cheap fares. Look for " happy hour. " The flights are cheaper again. Have a great flight.
